November this year marks 25 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall. Besides dividing the city of Berlin in two, this wall symbolized the separation of the world in two blocs, one formed by capitalist countries and the other by communist countries. For many years these two blocs fought over political, economic, and military hegemony in the world.
This quarrel was felt in different ways in many parts of the world, such as in my country, Angola. There was massive foreign intervention during the civil war we had, because the two political blocs provided significant military assistance to the parties involved in our civil war. As a result, the conflict mushroomed and extended, and ended up lasting for nearly 30 years.
During this time I found Christian Science and started to pray about the situation from a spiritual perspective. I started to realize that, regardless of how aggressive a situation may seem to the physical senses, we deny the belief in division that causes two different blocs to attack each other for fear of losing control and influence.
