Annual Meeting invitation 2024

Dear Church Members and Friends, It is with a joyous heart that we invite you to Boston for this year’s Annual Meeting of The Mother Church, to be held Monday, June 3. We hope you will join us in person or online at christianscience.

Dedication of a branch church or society is a public affirmation of the importance of Church in the lives of Christian Scientists and in the community. When an edifice is free of debt, churches and societies often hold a dedicatory service.

2024 per capita tax message

Dear Members of The Mother Church, James J. Rome learned about Christian Science in the late 1800s after he moved from his native Scotland to the United States.

Normal class 2024

In the  Manual of The Mother Church , Mary Baker Eddy provides for the continuity of her teaching through the establishment of the Board of Education. Article XXIX, Section 2, states: “Loyal Christian Scientists’ pupils who so desire may apply to the Board of Education for instruction; and if they have practised Christian Science healing successfully three years and will furnish evidence of their eligibility therefor, they are eligible to enter the Normal class.

New Trustee appointed

Effective November 13, 2023, Arcadia Nones, CSB, of Lake Forest, Illinois, United States, has been elected to The Christian Science Publishing Society Board of Trustees, joining Michael Fish, CSB, and David Hohle, CSB, who currently serve as Trustees. Cadi is a lifelong Christian Scientist and has served her branch church in many capacities, including as First Reader, Sunday School teacher, and Board member.

Admission of new members

Dear Members and Friends, We are delighted and grateful to be able to share with you the happy news of the recent admission of new members to The Mother Church from around the world. New members to our worldwide family come from Angola, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, France, Germany, Ghana, Guinea, Indonesia, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Philippines, the Republic of the Congo, Togo, Uganda, United Kingdom, and United States of America.

New Associate Editor

We are happy to announce the appointment by the Christian Science Board of Directors of Lisa Rennie Sytsma, CSB, to the position of Associate Editor for The Christian Science Journal, Sentinel, and Herald. She succeeds Moji George, CSB, who recently became a member of the Christian Science Board of Directors.
