In the middle of the storm

When the storm first started, it was only rain. It was ordinary rain that pit-pattered on my windows, and slip-slapped against the palm trees outside.

How the Herald untangles my thoughts

I have no hobbies in particular , but one thing I adore is reading. When I am engrossed in a book, my everyday worries slip aside, and I feel as if the threads of my life are untangled.

Our Group was started in Tokyo in 1997, after The Christian Science Publishing Society invited in-country teams to contribute to the editorial and production work for each of the quarterly Heralds. Our editorial team gathers articles and testimonies written in Japanese, and suggests which items from the Herald's sister publications, the Christian Science Sentinel and the Journal, should be translated from English for the Japanese Herald.

To overcome homesickness I read the Herald

I live very far from work , spending a total of five and a half hours on the train commuting each day. I use this time to study the Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly and to read the Herald thoroughly.

Last month's segment in this series told about the thought and effort that went into The Christian Science Publishing Society's decisions relative to publications for Asia. Much attention was given to which languages should be chosen in order to reach as many people as possible.
