Few things are as natural as turning on the radio or TV to find out what has been going on overnight or during the day. What's been happening in town or in the world? Who won the game? What's the weather going to be?
But for many, things have changed. They aren't turning on the radio to find out what's been going on; they are tuning in to see if everything is all right. They are feeling a persistent sense of uneasiness and fear that they never lived with before. And in other parts of the world, people are saying, "Now you know what we have been living with for years."
This gnawing fear points out a spiritual need to find a firmer basis for security than buying duct tape and flashlights, employing more police at airports, or installing chemical- and bomb-sniffing dogs and machines at airports—important as these are. The bottom-line questions are: How can I be more secure? How can I keep my family safe?
