... and now

From the March 2003 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Our Group was started in Tokyo in 1997, after The Christian Science Publishing Society invited in-country teams to contribute to the editorial and production work for each of the quarterly Heralds. Our editorial team gathers articles and testimonies written in Japanese, and suggests which items from the Herald's sister publications, the Christian Science Sentinel and the Journal, should be translated from English for the Japanese Herald. We have also given much thought to how we can share the Herald with the Japanese public.

Christian Scientists in Japan and elsewhere have responded to our call. They have submitted many articles and testimonies written counted 43 original articles and testimonies written especially for the Japanese Herald over the past five years, and many of them have been republished in other editions of the Herald, as well as in the Sentinel and the Journal. The "To our readers" column, which has many fans, is always written by a member of the Japanese editorial group.

Michiyo Kawasaki, who does the magazine's layout, creates beautiful pages in monochrome, using different shades of black and gray. Many artists have contributed their creative talents to grace our pages with warmth, joy, and affection. And enormous physical, metaphysical, and financial support has come from non-Japanese members of the team, as well.
