I had been practicing Christian Science for several years when a friend asked me about taking Primary class instruction in Christian Science. I had given it some thought, but argued that it just wasn't time for such a huge undertaking.

Christian Science treatment heals. It is prayer that acknowledges and authoritatively affirms man's spiritual nature as God's, Spirit's, expression.

One way to measure a book's worth is to see how well the author gives the reader a compelling sense of place. In two books I read recently, the geographies were vividly pictured.

While any sincere student of this Science may practice spiritual healing, individuals advertising in The Christian Science Journal are those who have an established record of healing and have met the standards required for advertising.

Claiming God's law as supreme, obeying it, and trusting it, we are protected from the fears and suffering that stem from so-called material law, the supposititious opposite of spiritual law.

The endeavor to write for the periodicals proceeds from the desire to help our fellowman—to share with others what we've learned, what has meant so much to us. It stems from Christ Jesus' command "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

As an art lover, I've always been intrigued by the depth of individual expression that so many artists achieve in their work. You know your piece or performance is effective if the viewer has grasped something of what you, the artist, were feeling or the beauty you were experiencing at the time your work was being produced.

World conflicts may seem too complicated to pray about. And you may wonder about the effectiveness of just one individual praying over a large-scale international problem.

A newspaper article I read some time ago referred, as I recall, to psychology as a popular "religion" today. For some people, if psychology has taken the place of religion in their lives, perhaps the human mind is like its god.
