People who attended last year’s Annual Meeting, or subsequent meetings the Board of Directors have been holding in various global locations, responded with many heartfelt messages telling about the “newness of life” they were feeling as they glimpsed and lived the reality of Spirit more deeply. The Journal is glad to share some of these messages here, and encourages others to send in their own responses.

I well recall the day our family gathered around the television to watch the launch of a rocket carrying astronaut Alan Shepard in the Project Mercury spacecraft Freedom 7. That was on May 5, 1961, which was about the beginning of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s race to put a man on the moon.

When we feel despair, guilt, fear, or even disease, it is good to understand that these are not our true feelings. We have been tricked into them.

If we face disruptions and loss, we yearn for answers that bring peace. What gives us true peace? Where should we look? Christ Jesus said: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.

What about our fondest and noblest human hopes and desires? Do these have a place within the working out of the perfect love of God? Yes, we can be assured they do! These hopes and desires may include the desire to have friends and be a friend, to feel included in a sense of family, to love and feel loved, to feel respected and appreciated, to feel a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment. Such desires and hopes go right to the heart of human living.

When I am searching for a higher understanding of harmony, I often pray with this definition of Christian Science that Mary Baker Eddy gives in her book Rudimental Divine Science: “.

A few months ago I was at a Wednesday testimony meeting at The Mother Church, and the readings centered on the theme of following God. But as I listened, I realized there was another dimension to the message, as well.

The author points out that "health isn’t a condition of matter; it is a condition of the divine Mind."
