The sixth chapter of John's Gospel records some of Christ Jesus' most revolutionary utterances; in fact, so incomprehensible were his spiritual teachings to ears dulled by materialism that the Scripture states, "From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. " One can well imagine the wistfulness with which the Master put the question to the twelve, "Will ye also go away?" There must have been comfort to Jesus, and an awakened devotion in the hearts of the disciples, in the prompt reply of the sturdy Simon Peter: "Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

The Founder of Christianity not only thought deeply of his great mission, but he also thought of the vast harvest that the seeds of Truth which he was planting would produce—a harvest that would be garnered by his followers in the years and centuries to come. On one occasion, as he looked out upon the multitudes who followed him, "he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

The foundation of mortal discord is a false sense of man's origin. To begin rightly is to end rightly.

Have you allowed unreasoning bias or some undefined prejudice to keep you from reading and studying, in connection with your Bible, Mary Baker Eddy's great book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures"? If so, you are not only excluding yourself from beautiful literature, but shutting the door on vital truth—the truth about God and man which Jesus promised would make make free. One who turns to these inspired pages with open mind will soon be convinced of two facts: first, that the writer of such a book must have been a spiritually-minded, God-fearing, Christloving woman; and secondly, that if her interpretation of the Bible is true, Christian Science is the long-looked-for Comforter, or "Spirit of truth," destined to liberate and save the race.

The discovery of Christian Science has erased the belief of time as a great gulf separating humanity from the truth as it was taught and demonstrated by Jesus of Nazareth. Christian Science reveals the uninterrupted operation of this truth as the evidence of the ever-present divine Principle that is Life, dynamic Being.

A human philosopher opines that when A meets B there are six concepts of man present. First, there is A's concept of himself; secondly, B's concept of A; thirdly, God's concept of A.

Players in such games as baseball and cricket are familiar with the term "inning" or "innings," when a team or an individual member thereof has a fresh opportunity to score. In baseball, a game of normally nine-innings, there is always hope for a trailing side as long as there is one inning left.

Alertness to reverse and dissipate every false prophecy of mortal mind that suggests future epidemics, pestilence, or affliction is one effective way for Christian Scientists to help protect the health of mankind. Such prophecies, we should see, are but lying prognostications of evil, asserting that devilish material forces have authority over our future.
