Putting on record insights into the practice of Christian Science.

THE MIGHT OF HUMILITY

HOW rarely has it been supposed that humility could result in might! Because men have been educated to believe that humility generally implies the yielding of one's own opinions, purposes, and desires to some one with a so-called stronger mentality, the ordinary concept of humility has often carried with it a sense of weakness rather than of strength. This has resulted in a supposition that to be humble one must submit even to great imposition— must be ready to yield quickly and without question to whatever demands may be made upon him by any one in any way.

"BE YE TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND"

PAUL'S words, written to the Romans many centuries ago, are ringing in the ears of Christendom to-day as loudly as when they were penned: "Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. " And well do many know that unless their worldly outlook is corrected, unless they turn,—"repent.

"IMMUTABLE LAW"

ON page 134 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy speaks of Christian Science as "the natural law of harmony which overcomes discord," and she states that it is "not because this Science is supernatural or preternatural, nor because it is an infraction of divine law, but because it is the immutable law of God, good.

OMNIPOTENCE

MRS. EDDY was the most cogent writer of all time; her statements invariably arrest the attention of her readers.

DIVERSE GIFTS

PAUL has much to say about spiritual gifts. In the twelfth chapter of I Corinthians he presents a lengthy dissertation on the subject.

ON OVERCOMING THE WORLD

THAT Christ Jesus foresaw the difficulties which his disciples would encounter in establishing his doctrines, there is ample evidence. "In the world ye shall have tribulation," he warned them.

TRUE SUBSTANCE

THE word "substance" has a very definite meaning to the student of Christian Science, a meaning, however, very different from that which is generally accepted. Ordinarily, matter (so called), that which the physical senses claim to detect and analyze, is looked upon as substance; but these same material senses take no cognizance whatsoever of Spirit, which Christian Science declares to be the only real substance.

ONLY ONE TEACHING

THERE is only one correct teaching of Christian Science, and that is the teaching which Mary Baker Eddy, the revered and beloved Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, gave to the world in her writings. No teaching which departs therefrom in any least particular presents Christian Science correctly; while all that is in accordance with it is of God, good, and has His sanction resting upon it.
