THE precepts and practices of Christ Jesus as recorded in the Scriptures are a storehouse of wisdom and experience to guide the student of Christian Science into the sure ways of righteousness. Frequently it seems, apart from the main precept which his words convey, they contain gleams of wisdom, sidelights as it were, which if seized upon and deeply pondered may become of great import to the student.
SEVERAL hundred thousand dollars more than is now in the treasury will be required to complete and equip the building of The Christian Science Pleasant View Home, now in course of erection where once stood the home of our revered Leader in Concord, New Hampshire. Contributions to this building fund from organizations and individuals have, up to date, been generous and adequate.
HOW rarely has it been supposed that humility could result in might! Because men have been educated to believe that humility generally implies the yielding of one's own opinions, purposes, and desires to some one with a so-called stronger mentality, the ordinary concept of humility has often carried with it a sense of weakness rather than of strength. This has resulted in a supposition that to be humble one must submit even to great imposition— must be ready to yield quickly and without question to whatever demands may be made upon him by any one in any way.
PAUL'S words, written to the Romans many centuries ago, are ringing in the ears of Christendom to-day as loudly as when they were penned: "Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. " And well do many know that unless their worldly outlook is corrected, unless they turn,—"repent.
ON page 134 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy speaks of Christian Science as "the natural law of harmony which overcomes discord," and she states that it is "not because this Science is supernatural or preternatural, nor because it is an infraction of divine law, but because it is the immutable law of God, good.
In the Manual of The Mother Church ( p. 43 ) Mrs.
MRS. EDDY was the most cogent writer of all time; her statements invariably arrest the attention of her readers.
PAUL has much to say about spiritual gifts. In the twelfth chapter of I Corinthians he presents a lengthy dissertation on the subject.

THAT Christ Jesus foresaw the difficulties which his disciples would encounter in establishing his doctrines, there is ample evidence. "In the world ye shall have tribulation," he warned them.
