Letters & Conversations
Important topic to address [Susan Booth Mack Snipes, “ Address mental malpractice? How? ” Journal, September 2022] Thank you for the way this article simply yet effectively addresses this subject, and for the description of the writer’s experience and subsequent revelation. I am applying the lessons she learned in my own life.
Important ideas [Leslie Revilock, “ Climate change and mental change ,” Journal, August 2022] This piece has such important ideas, which can be broadened to include pandemics, economics, conflicts, cultural degradation, and wars. It’s interesting how Mary Baker Eddy forearmed us for this era with her emphasis on handling weather events of her day.
Loved the July issue I am so grateful for the Christian Science periodicals. They are always timely and full of fresh inspiration.
Thankful for reminder [Susan Booth Mack Snipes, “ Progressively letting go ,” Journal, June 2022] A warm and grateful thanks to the author for reminding me that all good is from God alone. It is not located in person, place, or thing.
So many strong points Just wanted to give thanks for the wonderful interview in the March Journal, “ Where is God when bad things happen? ” with Scott Preller and Ethel Baker. It has so many strong points highlighting the effect of an understanding of the all-presence of an all-powerful God, even in the harshest of circumstances.
Opportunity for growth [Heike Arneth, “ Evil exposed and dissolved ,” Journal, March 2022] I needed this article! And I am so grateful to know that I do not need to hold on to long-held beliefs about myself or anyone else. Such a freeing, expanding, and exciting opportunity for spiritual growth.
Got me thinking [Ruth Geyer, “ The healing deep dive ,” Journal, February 2022] This article was written with such warmth and grace. Usually, I think of going up higher to seek God’s love and guidance when faced with an issue, so the thought of diving deeper really got me thinking.
Amazing healing [Aaron Dyer, “ Severe illness, fear of dying overcome ,” Journal, January 2022] This was such an amazing healing, showing forth courage and persistence. The way the author explained that we cannot be hypnotized into believing that discord and suffering are true for ourselves or anyone else was most helpful.
Wonderful Christmas gift [Jan Keeler Vincent, “ Christmas and a truer sense of Love ,” Journal, December 2021] What a wonderful Christmas gift! If we follow these God-given thoughts, Christmas will bring to the world the pure gifts of Love that bless all—even so-called enemies. Bernice Doane via JSH-Online.
Reading many more times [Abigail Mathieson Warrick, “The transforming radiance of Pentecost,” Journal, November 2021] This article had me at the very first sentence: “If you have ever felt the ground drop out from under your feet— your whole life turned upside down—there is a world of joy waiting to bless you more deeply and lastingly than you can imagine. ” I’m so grateful to be witnessing this unfold in my own life after losing my husband and business partner.
