Just wanted to give thanks for the wonderful interview in the March Journal, “Where is God when bad things happen?” with Scott Preller and Ethel Baker. It has so many strong points highlighting the effect of an understanding of the all-presence of an all-powerful God, even in the harshest of circumstances. It emphasizes the importance of not being impressed with the circumstances or allowing them to inform our view of God, but starting with that unassailable fact of an all-good, all-powerful God. It also explains the need to let that reality challenge how we feel (and what our conclusions are) about these circumstances. It’s not easy to remain unimpressed by dire conditions, but what a difference it can make.
