I would like to express my gratitude for the many healings I’ve experienced over the years by relying on Christian Science. One that occurred when I was a new student of this Science showed me the power of keeping our thought close to God.
I had a toothache, so I started going through copies of the Christian Science Sentinel and Journal for articles on teeth or bones. I also searched the concordances to find relevant references in the Bible and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy.
When this approach to praying did not bring release from the pain, I called a Christian Science practitioner to help me. I started to tell her what I had been reading and praying with, but she was not very interested in this. After a few minutes, she asked me if I was holding on to any resentments. This surprised me, but in fact I was harboring deep resentment toward someone. The biggest problem was that I felt justified in my attitude.
