"THOUGH THOU HAST NOT KNOWN ME"

Thy Father leadeth thee. Hath He not said, I girded thee though Me thou hast not known? Look up! On thee Love's radiant smile is shed; Reach forth thine hand and lay it in His own!

ASSURANCE

God is our Father, whose love never faileth; Safe in His presence His children can rest, As when a nestling in the warm feathers Quietly sleeps 'neath its mother's warm breast. Safe in God's gentleness, all the world leaving, Love surges round and each little one keeps, Though we may dream that we wander in deserts, God never slumbers, and God never sleeps.

YOU ARE GOD'S PERFECT CHILD

To one of God's appointed fared I, sore oppressed, beguiled By sense. And there I softly heard, You are God's perfect child! The words came clear, so firmly said, As from a sky of blue— True manna to a hungering heart: God's perfect child are you! Why, never once had even those Who loved me truly done A thing like this! My heart arose: You are God's perfect son! Oh, blessed news, O Father mine, To stop the earth winds wild! All-powered voice of Truth divine: You are God's perfect child!

REFLECTION

Happy is he whose only aim Is God's great love to share; Joyful is he who knows naught else But goodness everywhere; Peaceful is he who trusts his God And leaves all to His care.

THE MASTER'S MESSAGE

A glimpse of the Christ was granted To me as I prayed one day, And the voice of the gentle Master Compellingly seemed to say: Go forth and proclaim my gospel To those who are sick and sad; To those who are poor and needy; To those who are weak and bad. Relinquish all sense of passion, Of anger or self or fear, I have called you to be my witness To render my message clear; For those who cry out for healing Are blinded by sin and pain, And only the purest loving Can open their eyes again.

PILGRIM'S SONG

Take love with you in your heart As you go! Let love's voice the morning start, Hear God calling you apart For His own— Him to serve, Him to know. Take love with you in your heart As you go! Keep love with you in your heart As you go! Know no life from God apart— All secure from arrow's dart, You are His, He is yours, You will know! Keep love with you in your heart As you go! Hear love's song within your heart As you go! 'Tis a song of healing art And its melodies impart Comfort sweet, Grace and joy, To bestow! Hear love's song within your heart As you go!

THE WAITING HOUR

I feared to take the way, it seemed to be Too dark without a guide or crossroad sign. I hesitated long.

A PRAYER

Dear Father! First I ask to pray aright, No taint of self or sense within my heart, But upward rising to that perfect light In which alone Thy children can have part. Help me each moment to be better worth Thy ever present blessing, and to prove True gratitude by seeking that new birth Our Master wrought, in sacrificial love.

ASSURANCE

I went into the garden, for the day Had heavy been with toil; the upward way Was rough; thorns o'er my path were lain; Bowed was my head with care, my heart with pain. And as I walked a nesting bird's low call The promise brought: He knows the sparrow's fall.

PRESS ON

When the way seems long and weary, Filled with sorrow and with pain; When the visioned path looks dreary, Void of sunshine, wet with rain; Lift thy head, O weary brother; Just across the darkened hills There are fields of glorious brightness, Grasses green and sparkling rills. Truth will lead thee out of sadness, Love will guide thee to His arms; Underneath they wait to shelter His dear child from all that harms.
