THE EVANGELIST

From the August 1932 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts."—Zechariah 4:6

In childhood's year-long leisure days
He dreamed of wondrous things to be,
Of wielding sword and iron rod to bend the proudest will to God
By human mastery.

He dreamed of squadrons rainbow-winged
Who flew at his command
Across the mountains and the sea to do this marvelous ministry.
He plowed the barren sand.
