The September class at the Massachusetts Metaphysical College, 571 Columbus Avenue, Boston, consisting of about 30 members, representing fifteen States and eight Christian denominations, offered the following preamble and resolutions, which were unanimously adopted:
Whereas the president, Rev. Mary B. G. Eddy, has brought to our understanding a knowledge of Christian Science and its invisible relations to Scriptural teachings,
1. Resolved, That we, the members of the September class of 1886, desire to express our most appreciative thanks in a public way for the conclusive and concise manner in which she has taught us the grand truths, principle and practice of Mind Healing.
2. Resolved, That she has exhibited throughout a patience and perseverance seldom displayed by so erudite a scholar in the dissemination of profound knowledge, thereby endearing her for life to her students.
3. Resolved, That we will faithfully endeavor to put forth the doctrines thus imparted to the best of our ability, taking, as she dictates, the teachings of the Scriptures for our infallible guide.
May she long be spared in our midst, is our affectionate hope, in bidding her adieu.
