Last Class at the College

From the May 1886 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Mrs. Eddy is pleased to consider it unusually bright. Twenty-eight members were in regular attendance, though a few were compelled, by various exigencies, to be absent from the first and last lessons.

Some pupils were taking the course for the second time. Several had studied Christian Science under other teachers, and had been already in practice. Both young and old were among the learners. They came from various places—Nebraska, Iowa, California, Illinois, New Hampshire, Northampton, Boston.

Questions were searching, and they were practical as well as theoretical. The Bible was freely quoted, and theological points touched with a decided hand. This was partly owing to the presence in the class of four clergymen.
