From my early childhood I was always ill. For weeks I lay in bed under the doctor's care. One morning I awoke with a headache. My mother asked me if I wanted a doctor or a Christian Science practitioner, and I said I wanted a Science healer. I got right up that afternoon; if I had had a doctor I would, judging from past experience, have been in bed for three weeks. I am now well and happy; I used to have a headache nearly every day in school, but now I can make my own demonstration.
