Testimonies of Healing

I did not come into Christian Science through the physical...

From the August 1904 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I did not come into Christian Science through the physical healing but for spiritual uplifting. For many years I had been seeking for something better than I had hitherto known. I had investigated many of the "isms," and although some appealed to me in a measure, there was always something lacking, and I knew I had not yet found the religion that satisfies.

About this time a dear friend made me a visit, and the next Sunday she asked me to direct her to First Church of Christ, Scientist. I went with her. and then that longing was satisfied, I had found peace,— my rightful inheritance. I learned that I had to cling closely to Truth, never doubting for one moment, but "trusting Truth, the strong deliverer, to guide me into the land of Christian Science, where fetters fall, and the rights of man are fully known and acknowledged" (Science and Health, p. 226).

While studying Science and Health, several diseases vanished into their native nothingness. I knew not when they went, so absorbed was I in contemplation of this new-found truth. Weakness of the muscles of the stomach, which had caused me great suffering at times, and also a troublesome case of catarrh went away, and I was completely healed of them. My husband also was healed of deafness in one ear while attending a Wednesday evening meeting.
