Six years ago I was healed in Christian Science. I had been an invalid for a year and a half, in bed the greater part of the time. I had what the doctors called heart disease, ovarian trouble of eight years' standing, also serious nervous diseases. During this time I had three physicians, none of whom gave me any hope of ever being well again. One said that I ought not to be left alone, as I was likely to pass away any moment.
One day my husband came home saying there was a Christian Science practitioner in the place, and that a friend of his had been healed for whose recovery the doctors had given no hope; he also said that the practitioner did not give medicine. I said I wished to see her, for I did not want any more medicine. He accordingly went and brought her to me. She gave me a treatment and told me to eat whatever I wanted, and I did so without any ill effect. I was treated two weeks, grew better every day, and was healed. I then took up my household duties and have continued to perform them ever since. I have had some attacks, but have found the remedy always at hand, for I have "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," which is my dear companion. I am in perfect health, having gained so much physically that some do not know me.
I was a member of an orthodox church, but never found the peace that satisfies until I came to Christian Science. Then I found that God is Love and ever-present. I found joy in place of sorrow, harmony in place of discord. Words cannot express my gratitude to God, and to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy. — Dover, N. H.
