Two and a half years ago I was a physical and mental wreck from stomach and bowel trouble in its worst form. I had doctored with some of the most eminent physicians for two years. For three months I suffered terribly. My physician finally said he did not understand it, but that nothing seemed to have any effect.
While in this hopeless condition, in Tacoma, Wash., Christian Science found me. A lady in the house where I was rooming called on me, and as I was relating what I had passed through, she asked if I had ever tried Christian Science. I said I had not, but that I would do so. She said she had been healed of a so-called fatal disease, and told me of that wonderful book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I listened as one in a dream, and on Wednesday night we attended the testimony meeting. After the service, trembling and with tears in my eyes, I walked up to a dear Scientist and asked her if she would give me treatment. When she told me I could eat anything I wished, I felt transformed; and I was for I was instantaneously healed. Next morning I ate such a breakfast that it fairly took my husband's breath away, and from that day to this I have been in perfect health To those around me it seemed a miracle! For the first ten days I devoured Science and Health; I read it day and night In gratitude and love to Mrs. Eddy I send this testimony in acknowledgment of the blessings I have received through Christian Science, and above all for the spiritual healing, transformation, and peace of mind which have come to me. I was a confirmed infidel, but thanks to Christian Science I have found a God of love, who forgives our sins and heals our diseases.
The Bible and Science and Health are my daily companions. In my own immediate family I have seen several serious diseases healed by the power of Truth. For the Journal, Sentinel, and. Quarterly I am very grateful; they have been beacon-lights to us in the far North.
