Christian Science has done so much for me the past year, in which I have tried to live up to its teachings, that I wish to express my gratitude to God, and to Mrs. Eddy for this wonderful truth. When first I came to Christian Science, I was laboring under a very heavy burden. In May, 1907, my health began to fail. I lost the use of my right arm for several days, had a very severe cough with alarming symptoms, and I suffered intense pain day and night, so that I lost all hope of ever getting well. After having been treated by several doctors in Houston and finding no relief, I was frankly told by the company doctor (I am a railroad telegraph operator) that I would have to leave Houston at once; that I was practically in the last stages of lung trouble, and if I did not leave, I could live only about three weeks. This was after I had been thoroughly examined by him.
I had given up all hope, when a friend asked me to attend a Wednesday evening meeting at First Church of Christ, Scientist, of this city, which I was only too glad to do. I found such peace in this meeting as I had never before experienced, and after three weeks' treatment I was completely healed. I wish also to say that I have received many other blessings through Christian Science, that I have found something which meets every human need, and for all this I am very grateful.
