From the September 1910 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In the spring of 1907 I was confined to my bed for six weeks with what was called a diseased ovary. Our family physician after consulting with another doctor, decided to send me to a hospital. With that intention I left home, but on my way I employed still another physician, who upon examination agreed practically with what the others had said. He proceeded to make arrangements for me; but the place was already full, so I was obliged to wait until there should be a vacancy.

One day, while I was waiting for a call, I remarked to my sister, at whose house I was staying, "Why do I not try Christian Science?" At that time I knew there was such treatment, nothing further. My sister replied that she would ask a friend to tell us her experience. The lady referred to came, and because of what I learned from her I decided to give Christian Science a trial. I therefore sent word to the doctor that I had given up going to the hospital. I then put aside all material remedies, went up and down stairs (something I had not been allowed to do for weeks), went back home, and by the time I had taken Christian Science, treatment four weeks I was free from that awful pain from which I had suffered so long.

I shall be very glad to answer any questions concerning the healing, for I thank God and am grateful to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for all that has been done for me. I have had many demonstrations of the power of divine Love since I came to know a little of Christian Science.
