The gratitude I feel for Christian Science can never be expressed in words, but I give my testimony with the hope that it may reach some one who is in need of this healing truth. For eight years before I found Christian Science I was a sufferer, not from one disease only, but many. I had a large growth on my arm which interfered largely with its use. Several physicians told me that they could not do any more for me, and that I would have to go through an operation. I asked them if they could save the use of my arm, but they told me it would be impossible, and that I should be glad if. I could save my arm; that if I waited a few weeks longer they might not be able to save my life. I went home broken-hearted, feeling that I would rather die than to be without my arm. I said to my husband that if it were not for him I would rather go to my grave, as I felt that I would be a burden to myself and all around me. One day when very low-spirited I went to my room and wept and prayed; then the thought came to me that God could heal me, and this seemed so sweet to me that I never doubted.
The next morning, through a dear friend, I heard of Christian Science. When she advised me to take treatment, I asked her what she meant by Christian Science, and then she told me of other friends whom God had healed, and directed me to a practitioner. I felt that I could not see her soon enough to get the understanding of the blessed truth, and I thank God that I have found it to be the truth. In seven weeks my arm was healed, and I can do anything with it that I can with the other one. I can say that Christian Science is the truth, for it has made me free. I was lifted out of a nervous collapse which was so bad that frequently I would fall wherever I was, down stairs or on the pavement, so that I had my knees bandaged continuously for nearly three years. I have been healed of all my ailments, including headaches from which I had suffered for thirty years. I also laid aside glasses which I had worn for ten years. I was healed of an intestinal affection of thirty years' standing.
I am truly thankful to God for the many benefits which I have received since I came into Christian Science, and I am grateful also to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who has been the means of bringing this blessed gospel to us.
