I became interested in Christian Science four years ago through the healing of my husband. For five months he suffered from what the doctor called sciatic rheumatism. He was treated by several of the best physicians, but to no avail. We then called on a Christian Science practitioner, and in three weeks he was entirely healed, not only of the rheumatism but of other ailments of years' standing. After this we continued the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. One year later, my youngest son, while coasting down a steep hill, was thrown against the car track. He got up, and thinking that his cap had fallen off tried to replace it, but found that his scalp was hanging over his ear. He then walked five squares to a doctor's office. The doctor found the wound very serious and immediately called for another physician. The boy was for five hours in the care of the two doctors, and during this time, when the doctor thought he was unconscious, he repeated the "scientific statement of being" (Science and Health, p. 468). He was brought home and no medicine was administered. In ten days, under Christian Science treatment, he went back to school. There was no fever, no pain, no inflammation. The scalp wound was eleven and one half inches long, and the doctors said he had two fractures of the skull, one being very serious. There have been no ill effects from the accident, either mentally or physically.
We have had a number of proofs of the healing power of Christian Science since then. We are very thankful to God, also grateful to Mrs. Eddy for the spiritual understanding of God revealed through Christian Science.— Cincinnati, Ohio.
