When I was thirteen years old my parents became interested in Christian Science and I was remarkably healed. At that time I was partially deaf and growing worse every day, although I had been under the best of medical treatment for over two years. There was a harsh rumbling in my head and ears constantly, and as I could hear only part of the lessons given me at school, I was losing interest and was far behind in my studies.
Another member of the family was taking Christian Science treatment, but it had not been thought of for me until one evening, when the trouble was much worse and sleep seemed impossible, a practitioner was called. I slept peacefully all night and felt splendid next morning. I went eagerly to see the practitioner for another treatment, not realizing that the work was done, but on my way home the realization came to me that I was healed! I could hear! I had not heard a clock tick for so long that I did not recognize the sound, and looked around for some time before I could locate it. The voices of all who spoke to me sounded so loud that I had to beg them to talk more quietly, when before I had often heard only half of what was said.
This healing was permanent. After being so easily healed, and seeing and hearing of many other wonderful experiences in Christian Science, my faith and trust have always been great, and consequently I have had few physical ills. But I am most grateful for Christian Science because it is an ever-present remedy, not only for all physical ills, but in the solving of every problem of life. It is good to know we have a textbook to tell us of Truth, and a wise and loving Leader has shown us how to prove, day by day, that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health, p. 494).— Los Angeles, Cal.
