I wish to testify to the blessings received through Christian Science, and I do so with a grateful heart. For about ten years I suffered greatly with nervousness. I consulted several physicians, who gave me little hope of recovery. Later on another physician said that I could be relieved, and he gave me some medicine which apparently did me good. I took it daily for about two years, after which time my condition became worse than ever before. I had heart trouble with fainting-spells, and a paralytic condition seemed to extend over the legs, so that it became impossible for me to walk. I asked the physician as to the cause of this, and he said that I should take no more of the medicine, as the heart action had become weak, and that he could do nothing more for me. He left me in a state of helplessness. This was in November, 1909.
I remained in this condition all winter, waiting for some possible improvement, and in 1910 consulted another physician, who gave me no hope at all. About that time I received a letter from my son in Kansas City, in which he advised me to buy Mrs. Eddy's book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," as the reading of it might prove beneficial to me, and that he himself had experienced many blessings through Christian Science. A dear friend secured a copy for me and also asked a Christian Science practitioner to see me. She came and lovingly gave me my first treatment. Two days later I had so far recovered as to be able to walk to the lady's home, and with two more treatments I was completely healed. Since that time my health has been excellent. Christian Science has relieved me of all sense of fear, and made me a free woman. For this I thank God, and I am also grateful to Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer of this wonderful religion—Christian Science.—Poughkeepsie, N. Y.
