For the benefit of the many who are seeking help in their need, I would tell of how I found healing in Christian Science. I suffered for many years with an internal trouble, which was diagnosed in various ways by the physicians, none of whom seemed to be able to define the real nature of the disease. The ever recurring pain resulted in a condition of great weakness, and as a consequence my nervous system became affected. Added to this I contracted a cold, whereby the trouble assumed such a serious character that it became necessary for me to put myself under the care of a physician. My choice this time was a representative of "nature cure," so called, but after trying this treatment faithfully for six months, only my general condition seemed to have improved. Then I became acquainted with the teachings of Christian Science, and thereby gained new hope.
A Christian Science practitioner gave me several treatments, and with the gradual recognition that life and health proceed from God, my condition improved perceptibly. I regained my strength by degrees, and all my troubles were overcome through Christian Science. This wonderful proof of the power of divine Love caused my husband and myself to join the local Christian Science church.
Last year I was taken suddenly ill with an affection of the hip. I had not been watchful enough in the beginning, and presently the attack manifested itself so severely that I had to ask for help repeatedly. The more I tried to protect myself against this evil, the more it seemed to assert itself. The mental and physical disturbance seemed to make me lose my balance; but the thought came that as God never leaves us, we should never leave Him, and this inspired me with new courage. I was again able to think clearly, and to realize that nothing can separate us from God's love. My healing took place within ten days, and there has been no return of the trouble. Although I have gone through dark hours, I would not miss these testing experiences, for they were the very means of strengthening my trust that God turns everything to good.
