I cannot adequately express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me, but I must not delay any longer in telling of my healing, as it may encourage others who are struggling with like problems. For eight years after the birth of my second child I had to wear a support on account of uterine trouble. I hardly knew what it was to feel well, because of chronic stomach disorder and excruciating headaches, while the least exertion tired me out. From time to time I tried to get along without the support, but invariably at the end of a few days it had to be resorted to again. After going on in this way for eight years, I had a bad fall on some stone steps, and then the conditions became so aggravated that I was seriously ill and the support was useless. I could not walk even a few yards without collapsing.
At this time I knew a little of Christian Science, but had not thought of trying it for myself. I went up to London to see a doctor who is an authority on women's complaints, and after an examination he told me that I was in a serious state, but there were two alternatives. One was an operation, and the other was to rest for six or eight weeks and have done gradually what would otherwise be done at the operation. He told me candidly that he could not promise that either of these treatments would permanently benefit me. On my return home I talked the matter over with my husband and told him that I had made up my mind to try Christian Science. I arranged for treatment from a dear friend who is a practitioner, and she took a long, tedious journey once a week to see me, and continued this course for several weeks. My healing was slow but complete, and for the past three years I have been perfectly normal, enjoying better health than ever before. Stomach disorder is a thing of the past, and the severe headaches to which I had been subject since early childhood are now practically unknown.
For the many physical healings I have experienced, and for the harmony and comfort that Christian Science has brought to me, I can never be sufficiently thankful. I am indeed grateful to Mrs. Eddy, who brought to us this priceless truth.— Tenterden, England.
