My experience in Christian Science dates from June 28, 1913, when my son, then twelve years of age, was run over by an automobile and dragged under the machine for some distance. His injuries included a fractured skull, a gash over one eye, and also bruises on his body. He was rushed to the nearest hospital, where the doctors told us his case was hopeless and we might expect to hear the worst at any moment. We did not give up hope, however, but applied to a Christian Science practitioner, who was in the room only a very short time when the boy fell into a peaceful sleep and upon awakening was found to be improving.
In spite of the fact that the doctors gave us no encouragement, our faithful practitioner worked on, and God's wonderful truth prevailed. In a short time the boy was able to leave the hospital, and the doctors' further predictions that if he lived he would either be blind or his mind would be affected did not come true, for he is as sound as ever and a much happier boy because he has learned the inspiring truth that God's protecting care and love is with us always and forever.— Minneapolis, Minn.
