For some time the thought has been before me to send in my testimony. Christian Science has given me a new hope in life, a reason to live. I did not come to it for physical healing; its teachings drew me as no other religion had, although at the time I was a member of another church. I have passed through childbirth with no pain; in fact the people in the next room knew nothing of the occurrence until the baby was dressed. I took some care of the child the following night, was up and dressed in a week, and have had good health ever since. My little girl has had no medicine and is a fine, sturdy child. Burns, earache, mumps, scarlet fever, etc., have been healed in the family in a very short time compared with what would have been the case without Christian Science treatment.
We are especially thankful for an incident that happened one summer. While playing, our little girl got a fire-cracker about an inch long up into her nostril. I looked to see if it were there, but could discover no sign of it. Meantime I silently declared the truth. We then took a walk and were gone about two hours and a half. When we came home I put the child to bed, and she went to sleep, but awoke shortly, vomiting. She did this several times, sleeping fifteen to twenty minutes at a time. The fifth time, the fire-cracker came out of her mouth. To say we were thankful seems a mild way of putting it.
These are only a few of the many blessings that follow a sincere application to the study of Christian Science. It has helped in business, and it helps in every way, when one is faithful to its demand that we have no other God but the one Father, who is ever watchful of His children and always a help in trouble. I am very grateful for the Christian Science literature, and also to Mrs. Eddy for this teaching. Life would be a blank without it.—Grand Rapids, Mich.
