Testimonies of Healing

In thankfulness to God, and gratitude...

From the June 1915 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In thankfulness to God, and gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, I give my testimony to the power of Christian Science to heal. A short time after the birth of my daughter I became so fearful that I refused to eat my food, so I was sent to an asylum for the insane, where I had to be fed. Twice I was at the asylum about six months. The third and last time my husband employed a Christian Science practitioner to treat me. I knew that a want of faith is displeasing to God, and as I had some understanding of Christian Science, I came out of the asylum in two weeks.

It is about twenty years since this occurred, during which time Christian Science has been our only physician. Measles, whooping-cough, abscesses, a throat affection, influenza, and erysipelas are some of the diseases healed. Recently I had my hearing restored to me after one of the Sunday services. I had been partially deaf for two years, and could not hear the heavy cars that pass near our church; but after my healing I could hear them distinctly, and can now, so I consider my hearing good. For all these blessings, for Mrs. Eddy's writings, together with the Christian Science literature and the lectures, I am continually grateful. —
