I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. It is just twelve years since I heard of this teaching through a friend. At the time, I was suffering very much from imperfect sight. I had been to several oculists, but they had not been able to help me. At last I was persuaded to go to see a London specialist. He examined my eyes thoroughly, and asked if I could manage to stay in London that night, as he wished a physician to see me in the morning. I arranged to do so, and the next morning underwent another thorough examination. The conclusion was, that the trouble was due to malformation from birth, and nothing could be done; but I was to return every nine months to see the specialist and to have the glasses changed.
It was in this condition that Christian Science found me. A friend advised me to buy a copy of Science and Health, and I did so. In a few weeks I was healed without any treatment. For the complete regeneration that took place in my consciousness while alone with the book I am deeply grateful. The physical healing seemed to follow, and it has been permanent. While I am very grateful for the physical healing, it is not to be compared to the spiritual uplift.
Science and Health is indeed the spiritual "Key to the Scriptures," and the Comforter promised by our Master. I am deeply grateful to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for showing us the way.— London, England.
