I wish to relate an experience...

From the July 1916 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I wish to relate an experience which to me was a convincing proof of the healing power of Christian Science. In the fall of 1911 I was bed-fast with an attack of bowel trouble, and in a few days my condition became alarming. A Christian Science practitioner, who was telephoned to, came on the train at midnight and gave me treatments until the third morning, when I was so much improved that she went home. The second day after she came I arose from my bed and with assistance dressed; also enjoyed a short walk out to the orchard. One interesting feature about this healing was that all I cared to eat was watermelon, and a friend said I could not be healed of this disease while indulging that appetite; nevertheless I rapidly recovered, although eating watermelon several times each day. After the Scientist returned home she gave me absent treatment, and in a few days the trouble had entirely left me.

I am very thankful for this demonstration and have received many other benefits, both physical and mental, from the application of Christian Science. I thank God for the Christ-healing, and am grateful to Mrs. Eddy for discovering it in this age. —
