My coming into Christian Science was not for physical healing. I was a church-member, had taught in Sunday school, and had always tried to find the truth as I felt it should be, —something different from just the every-day living. In fact I wanted that "change of heart" which all the ministers tell us we must have, but had not been able to make myself believe I had experienced this change. Finally an acquaintance told me of Christian Science and asked me to go with her to the Wednesday evening service that week. I did so, and the atmosphere of love and kindness was so pleasing that I have continued to go ever since. I purchased a copy of Science and Health and began to study it faithfully, and in only a few months a weak throat, to which I had been subject from childhood, also rheumatism, catarrhal trouble, which seemed to cause violent headaches, and other ailments, faded into nothingness.
It is now ten years since I last consulted a physician, and in all that time I have taken no medicine. Except for a few minor ills I have been a perfectly well woman. In the old thought I never took a trip, even for a day, without my medicine bottles. I am grateful to all who have helped me, and to Mrs. Eddy, through whom it was made possible for me to know the truth that has made me free.— Palisade, N. J.
