I am glad to have the privilege of expressing my gratitude for the many blessings that have come to me through a better understanding of man's relationship to God as revealed in Christian Science. To my great surprise, Christian Science not only brought me deliverance from physical ills which medical methods were powerless to alleviate, but proved the solution for many other problems.
From early childhood I had been almost constantly in ill health. I was suffering from a supposedly hereditary ailment which neither drugs nor physicians were able to control, and subject to attacks of inflammatory rheumatism, neuralgia, headaches, and violent colds. Having met with reverses in business, I was constantly laboring under a sense of fear, depression, and resentment. I had been reared in an orthodox faith, but my experiences had made me very bitter against religion. While in this state of mind I was led to consult a Christian Science practitioner for a member of my family, and my eyes were soon opened to the true character of this religion, and to the fact that its physical effects are the result of a deep spiritual influence which strikes at the root of all discord. I also became aware that its most urgent requirement is a complete moral and mental regeneration. In a short time I was able to have dental work done which I had been repeatedly warned would endanger my life if attempted. The so-called hereditary complaint was overcome.
One of the most remarkable phases of my healing was, that although I had been subject to catarrh for years, the tendency to catch cold gradually disappeared and I was freed, almost unconsciously, from any ill effects as the result of exposure or draughts. Aside from the specific healings mentioned, my general health has shown a marked improvement. The seeming inconsistencies of the Scriptures, and the promises of divine guidance and care recorded in them, have been cleared away, and I have at last found a religion that satisfies and supports in every phase of life.— Chicago, Ill.
