I wish to express my deep thankfulness to the giver of all good, our Father-Mother God, and my gratitude to His messenger, Mrs. Eddy, for the healing I have received through Christian Science; also to convey the good news to those who, like myself, are seeking the light, and to say that Christian Science, rightly understood, does heal. The truth came to my home in August, 1916, and restored me from a life of invalidism to happiness and usefulness.
Prior to the advent of Christian Science into my life, I had been suffering from tubercular disease of the lungs for nearly four years, the last nine months confined to bed. The doctor at last gave me only about four hours to live, but I rallied. At this stage a friend of my sister brought Christian Science to our notice, and asked if I would see a practitioner. I replied that I was willing to try anything, and again it was proved true that "man's extremity is God's opportunity," for after two treatments I began to attend church regularly. My condition steadily improved, and in two months I was able to take a position. The spiritual uplift was a revelation to me, leading out of the darkness of materialism "into the glorious liberty of the children of God." The study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" has enabled me to understand and know God. The Bible has become a new book to me, the daily study of which, in this new light, reveals man as spiritual, untouched by sin and disease, as the actual likeness of God, Spirit, with dominion over all evil.
I also wish to indorse my sister's testimony which accompanies this. She was healed in a few treatments, and it was a wonderful demonstration of the allness of God, and a proof that the power of God heals today as in Christ Jesus' time. God is our only Physician. My daily prayer is to be more worthy, and to be able to bring joy and happiness to others as I have received it.— Montreal, Canada.
