Testimonies of Healing

Christian Science has wrought a...

From the December 1919 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christian Science has wrought a remarkable transformation in my experience. It has healed me of sin and sickness in many forms, but I am convinced that the ability to aid others is the greatest blessing it gives.

The following diseases, which physicians had declared were beyond the aid of material remedies, have been healed through Christian Science in our family circle: locomotor ataxia. Bright's disease, inflammatory rheumatism, pneumonia, organic diseases, partial deafness, congenital defective sight, and a serious skin disease, as well as the results of injuries. A list of the so-called minor ailments that have been overcome promptly through the application of the truth would be many times longer. The correction of bad habits, bad temper, bad disposition, has brought immeasurable blessing and indicates spiritualization of thought, a requisite of progress. These experiences have covered a period of more than twenty years. Throughout this time Christian Science has never failed us when we relied entirely upon it. When the need for immediate help seemed great, the results have often been instantaneous. At other times, when the attempt was made to work out a problem at leisure, much time was consumed, sometimes a period of years.

When the application of Christian Science had proved repeatedly and beyond question that the Bible teaching of spiritual healing is applicable and compulsory now, I desired to devote all my time to the demonstration of this truth, and although the way seemed filled with obstacles these were overcome. This work has brought inspiration, joy, and healing that surpassed my expectation. Participation in the War Relief activities gave an occasion for deep gratitude, because it was an unusually fruitful experience and an impulse to further progress. Nothing but greater fidelity to Truth can adequately express my gratitude for its benefits and my appreciation of the work of Mrs. Eddy and her faithful follower.—
