Words fail to express my gratitude...

From the July 1919 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Words fail to express my gratitude for the benefits I have received through Christian Science. I can say with the psalmist, "my cup runneth over." Early in life I joined an orthodox church and I was a teacher in its Sunday school for fourteen years. During the last year of my teaching I began to read the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and finally resigned as a Sunday school teacher and attended the Christian Science church more regularly. When I started to study the Bible with the aid of our textbook, I felt as though I knew very little about it before. As I went on with its study, many passages opened up, and I find in the daily reading of the Lesson-Sermons together with our literature that passages which before seemed deep and ofttimes a mystery are now becoming beautiful.

My first healing in Christian Science resulted in the laying aside of glasses, after having worn them for twelve years. I have also been healed of so-called nervous indigestion, supposed to have been hereditary, of colds which seemed to manifest themselves two or more times a year followed by coughing spells lasting six weeks, of boils, small growths on the eyelids, and minor ills. Christian Science has been my only physician in the past four years. It has been the Comforter; bringing me safely through troubled waters, always lifting me higher spiritually.—
