Testimonies of Healing

I wish to add my testimony evidencing...

From the January 1920 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I wish to add my testimony evidencing God's allness and the nothingness of error. I had what the doctors called gastric ulcers of the intestines and bowels, and after having two very severe hemorrhages was left a complete wreck. Everything that materia medica had to offer was tried. X-ray pictures were finally taken, and the doctors in consultation decided that an operation was absolutely necessary but impossible at that time, and I would have to wait until I felt much stronger. I was away from business for a year and my financial condition was so acute that I had to give up my home and go to my parents with my family. It was in this condition Christian Science found, me a few years ago. I went to a Wednesday evening meeting and was very much impressed with what I heard. The next day I called on a practitioner, and in less than two weeks was back at work. I had some severe trials, but these brought me nearer to God. My healing has been permanent, and I am in perfect health.

I am very thankful to God that I have my home again; and it surely is a home of harmony. My wife and my children have been greatly helped through the study of that wonderful book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and the application of its teachings. Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for this wonderful study and all the authorized literature, which is our daily bread. I am trying to put into practice what I know of this religion.

I am very grateful to all who helped me to see the Christ, Truth, especially to Mrs. Eddy, who was courageous enough to give her discovery to the world in such plain language that even if one has very little education he can work out his salvation by the study of her writings. It is only since coming into Christian Science that I have read the New Testament, as I come from a family of very orthodox Jews, who are forbidden to read anything about Jesus the Christ; but I surely do acknowledge him as the Messiah, and the only Way-shower to harmony.—
