I would hereby express my gratefulness for the Lord's Prayer and for its enrichment by the better understanding given us through its spiritual interpretation by our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, as found on page 16 of Science and Health. My son was healed by Christian Science of severe injuries received in a fall, after all that the medical world could offer had failed. Through his healing I became interested in this teaching, but did not seem to gain any understanding, or derive any personal benefit, until I began to attend the services regularly and became earnest enough to be willing to sacrifice so-called pleasure to get more time for reading and study of the Christian Science literature.
Within a few months I was healed of two ailments that had held me in bondage for many years. One was intense sensitiveness of the optic nerve, and the other a disorder of twenty years' standing, for which I had been through two operations, with a third one in prospect. I was instantaneously healed of this while attending a service at First Church of Christ, Scientist, Salt Lake City, in 1907. Among difficulties that have since been entirely overcome, are a high fever with typhoid symptoms, congestion of the lungs, colds, astigmatism, occasional numbness of one side, and catarrh of the stomach. I can fully realize that such deflections from harmony, and joy, and brightness are but seeming.
Besides feeling thankful to our Father-Mother God, I am grateful to our Leader for pointing out to us so lovingly the right understanding of the Christ-way.—Riverside, III.
