My sincere gratitude for the many healings received through Christian Science impels me to write this testimony. I have overcome headaches and intense nervous trouble in its many forms, through the reading of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy and other Christian Science literature. Bowel trouble of many years' standing, which had necessitated the use of a material remedy almost daily, was overcome in four days' treatment.
I am grateful for the privilege of sending my two sons to the Christian Science Sunday school. They are learning how to overcome discordant conditions by knowing the all-power of God. They both have had several healings,—coughs, colds, and sprains having yielded almost instantaneously through treatment. The older boy was healed of ptomaine poisoning which affected his eyes. They became so sore that he could not bear the light, but that evening I treated him as best I knew how, for I was rather new in Science, and the next morning he woke up entirely relieved and all inflammation was gone.
About two years ago this same boy brought home a note saying that the school nurse had examined the children and found that our boy had a diseased tonsil, which we were advised to have removed. He also had a very annoying cough. He had been operated on several times for adenoids and tonsils, but each time something had been left for the next doctor to work on; so for years this piece of tonsil was blamed for all discordant conditions of the boy. On receiving the note I made up my mind to apply the truth, as it had helped us in other cases. Whenever I went over the Lesson-Sermon or heard him coughing, I would declare the truth and try to know that God's child is always perfect. About three months later he had a spell of coughing one day and this piece of tonsil came away. Since then his throat has been examined several times and it is in a fine condition. The cough lasted for a couple of weeks after the tonsil was healed, but that also has entirely disappeared.
