Nearly six years ago I began to read Christian Science literature purely out of curiosity. I never dreamed of the good it was to pour into my life as the beauty of its teaching unfolded. I was healed at once of a trouble extending over eighteen years. From a sick and discordant woman I have been changed into a well and very happy one. Although I had attended church quite regularly. I never knew how to love my neighbor, how to follow the footsteps of the Savior in deed and in truth, until I learned it in Christian Science.
At first I was very prejudiced against Mrs. Eddy, but now no words can express my gratitude to God for her purity of thought which has enabled her to present the truth to this age. Christian Science is indeed the promised Comforter, just at hand to all who will accept it. Our entire family are interested in Science, and depend upon Truth for healing. There have been many beautiful demonstrations in the home. I will mention three which were instantaneous: the removal of a piece of glass from the eye after it had been embedded there for several hours and a physician had been unable to locate it, the overcoming of influenza, and the dispelling of fearful pain that had held its victim rigid, and mute with agony, for hours. Other less acute conditions have been overcome gradually, and many friends have been helped in times of distress by the power of Truth.
The psalmist asks, "What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?" This momentous question is fully answered in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."—Hartford, Mich.
