I am so thankful for all the blessings I have received through Christian Science that I wish to send my testimony that it may help others. In August, 1917, when my brother was wounded, a friend gave me a Christian Science Sentinel. As soon as I read it I knew that Christian Science was the truth and I was instantaneously healed of a tumor. I had suffered from it for twenty-six years and had many very serious operations, after which the doctors told me I was incurable. I was most grateful when the pain and depression left me, for I used to think I should go mad.
Six weeks after this remarkable cure I was getting up one day, when the thought came to me, "You have no use for your truss." I had worn a truss for rupture in the groin for forty-five years, also a belt for a displaced kidney. I thereupon decided to do without the truss. Then the thought came, "If you have no use for the truss you have no use for the belt." I therefore took off the belt and I have not had the slightest trouble since. I sent both the truss and belt back to the maker, for I knew that I would never need them again, for God had done the work, and therefore it was perfect. The day I discarded these surgical supports was a very heavy working day for me. I did not mention to my mother what I had done until the end of the afternoon when I had finished baking; then I said: "I have a surprise for you. I have not got on my belt or truss and shall never have to wear them again, and I feel so free without them I hardly know what to do."
I am very thankful for all these blessings, but much more grateful for the knowledge of God, good, and His ever presence. I am hoping to grow more useful each day, so that I can prove to all what good means, and be a help in bringing the light to the world, to show my love for God.— Manchester, England.
