I did not become a Christian Scientist...

I did not become a Christian Scientist through regard for my health. The truth of Christian Science appealed to me, as well as its effect upon one's everyday life. I did have occasion to call up a practitioner a year ago. Our telephone was ringing, and as I ran to answer it a sinew snapped in my leg. It sounded like a small pistol shot. The sound frightened me more than the pain. I was unable to put my foot to the floor, but managed to get to my room and sit down. I picked up "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and then called up the practitioner and told what had happened. That was Thursday, and Saturday morning I went to the practitioner's office, without a limp. Under medical treatment I would have been housed three weeks or more. I am very grateful that Christian Science has shown me God, the great I am.—
