I wish to add my expression of gratitude to the above testimony, for the many blessings which we have been privileged to experience in our family. In the summer of 1917 my eighty-one-year-old mother manifested a swelling of the glands of the neck. I noticed it when it was the size of a pea, and immediately fear became manifest. Instead of banishing the sense testimony, I told my sister of it, and we observed the growth of the swelling with fear. Then we requested help from a Christian Science practitioner. Although the swelling was very hard and the size of a pigeon's egg, our mother experienced no pain, for which we were especially grateful. After several treatments the growth opened by itself. Just at that time we heard that one of our acquaintances, who had had a similar trouble, and who was not treated in Christian Science, suffered great pain, which led to an operation and ultimately to death.
I myself am endlessly grateful for the spiritual uplift which I have experienced through Christian Science. Through my own work as well as through outside help, I have overcome many difficulties in my profession as teacher, and above all have learned to know God as infinite Love and omnipotent Spirit. Several times I was privileged to help others, which afforded me great joy. Through Christian Science I have become a changed person—freer, happier, healthier. My one ambition is to prove my gratitude for this wonderful truth through my deeds and to manifest the Christ-spirit in my everyday life.—
