I wish to express gratitude for my healing and for the many blessings which I have received through Christian Science, and especially for having been led in the way of Truth. Three years ago I was engaged as nurse in a hospital and had typhoid fever patients in my charge. I, too, was stricken with this disease. For weeks I was subject to loss of appetite and felt very weak and tired. Upon awaking one morning I had very high fever and felt wretched, so that it seemed impossible for me to arise. Immediately I wrote to a practitioner requesting Christian Science help, which was lovingly given, and after three weeks I was so much improved that I was able to take my four weeks' vacation, which was given me by the head doctor.
We were also wonderfully protected during a gas explosion. My husband had fixed the lamp in the room, and was standing on top of the ladder to determine whether everything was all right. Suddenly there was a terrific noise, the windowpanes fell out, and I saw my husband surrounded by fire and the curtains burning. I left the room and declared the truth, as taught in Christian Science, and upon reentering I saw that the flames had been smothered and had done no further harm. I telephoned to a practitioner for help for my husband, as he had burned his head, neck, and arms. The pain ceased immediately and after eight days he had so far recovered that he was able to resume his business activities.
We are thankful for the benefits which our heavenly Father has privileged us to receive, and think in love and gratitude of Mrs. Eddy, who did so much for mankind.— Berlin, Germany.
