Testimonies of Healing

The thought came to me recently...

From the December 1920 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The thought came to me recently that if every one who had been helped by Christian Science had done as I have been doing for years we would have no testimonies to help and cheer us,—namely, waiting until all problems have been solved, to tell of the help received.

I have had two wonderful demonstrations of the power of God to overcome sickness and discords of all sorts, sometimes with the help of others, sometimes through my own understanding of Truth. My little son at the age of five years was healed in one day of a very distressing bowel trouble that he had had from the time he was three months old. This to me was most helpful and wonderful. A severe wound on the same child was healed in a few hours; also he has been healed of croup, cuts, bruises, measles, and wasp stings. In some cases he has been instantly freed. Children are so quickly freed by the truth. When any discord comes up he instantly turns to God for help and many times when I have seemed too ill or too discouraged to work for myself he has put his little arms around me and said, "Error can have no power over you, mother; God is All-power and God is your Life." Needless to say I am encouraged and helped. When this child was fourteen months old I was instantaneously healed, through absent treatment, of a disease I had had since his birth. I can never describe the joy and peace that came to us through that healing. I am so thankful to God for all good, and grateful to our beloved Leader. Mrs. Eddy, who made it possible for us to understand and practice in this age that priceless gift—Christian Science. I am grateful, also, to the practitioners and friends who have helped me so wonderfully and have shown such loving patience, also for the periodicals and all the authorized literature. My prayer is voiced in Mrs. Eddy's hymn (Poems, p. 13):—

My prayer, some daily good to do
To Thine, for Thee;
An offering pure of Love, whereto
God leadeth me.
