From childhood I sought God and occasionally questioned those belonging to various denominations about Him, but without any satisfaction. In Science and Health (p. 2) Mrs. Eddy says, "The unspoken desire does bring us nearer the source of all existence and blessedness." This has been proved to me times without number, and I feel indeed grateful now for many of the trials which led me to seek and find the blessed truth, as revealed in Christian Science.
My eldest son when a baby became seriously ill with pneumonia and inflammation of the bowels. Physician and material remedies were hard at work to rescue him, but at length the doctor told me there was no hope for the child's recovery, as the heart was too weak, and that everything possible had been done. Then at last I reached forth and found that God never fails. Our child was instantaneously healed by Christian Science. Through a dear sister this true light was brought into my home and it means all to me. I, too, was very sickly, but found that "God is no respecter of persons;" what He does for one, He does for all. We have indeed found health, strength, and happiness in Christian Science.
These healings have been permanent, and headaches, croup, bowel trouble, colds, broken bones, and other discords have also been overcome in our home. Surely this is cause for deep gratitude, and words are inadequate to express what this healing truth means to me. I am very thankful to God, and grateful to our Leader and to all those who have lovingly led me to understand God's everlasting care and love for His children.— Council Bluffs, Iowa.
