In 1913 I expressed my gratitude for all the good I had received through Christian Science, having been healed of a severe attack of pleurisy without material aid and only through Christian Science, in a comparatively short time. A physician who, upon the request of my family, afterwards examined me, pronounced me a well woman. Since then I have received many blessings. During this period of seemingly great scarcity of food we have never suffered from want. The firm faith that God always has supplied and always will supply our every need protects us from this. In March, 1917, I had another proof that God is our Physician. I became seriously ill with influenza, and all symptoms of the sickness were manifest. After lying in bed several days I had such backache that I was rendered absolutely helpless. My daughter telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner, and after the first treatment I was able to move, and several days later all pain had vanished. The weakness left me and soon I was able to resume my household duties. I am deeply grateful for the quick healing of a sickness which in former years, before I knew of Christian Science, compelled me to remain in bed for weeks at a time.
I am constantly striving to understand God better, and it is my endeavor to prove my gratitude by my life. I am grateful to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who gave us this Christ-religion.—Neukölln-Berlin, Germany.
