Testimonies of Healing

I have much to be thankful for....

From the June 1920 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I have much to be thankful for. Over seven years ago, by the advice of very dear friends I was induced to take Christian Science treatment from a Christian Science practitioner. At the time I had but little belief that it would benefit me. I had been a sufferer from so many diseases and for so long a time, that I was discouraged and without hope of ever getting well. I had suffered for more than thirty years with indigestion, dyspepsia, liver complaint, constipation, and catarrh. I was then suffering and for many years had suffered with sciatic rheumatism, and with swelling of the feet and legs, as well as from many other ills, which are too numerous to be mentioned. I had been treated by many physicians of splendid reputation; I had visited and tried the use of the waters of mineral and medical springs; I had taken great quantities of patent medicines, and other material remedies, none of which had proved of permanent benefit. One month from the time I commenced to take Christian Science treatment I was practically well. Some of the above named diseases had entirely disappeared and have never returned, some of them while being much better were not wholly cured, but although I have never taken any kind of medicine since, I am now enjoying good health. Shortly after taking such treatment, I was by two treatments from a Christian Science practitioner, cured of the habit of smoking, which I had assiduously followed for over forty years, and since being so cured, I have had no desire for tobacco in any form. I am over seventy-two years old. I am a member of The Mother Church of Boston, Massachusetts, and have enjoyed class instruction. I am grateful to God and to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for some understanding of Christian Science sufficient to enable me to minister to the needs of others and to give a cup of cold water in our Master's name.—
